Description: Based on a reference photo from motorsports photographer, Rob Woodham, this oil pastel drawing was an experiment in applying the impressionism style to automotive artwork. While not yet comfortable with using oil paints to explore this style, I felt like pastels would give me a similar feel. Overall, I think it hit the mark. I was able to capture the relevant details (perhaps too many of them), while maintaining the integrity of the subject. Of course, it always helps having a great reference photo. Hard to beat those golden hour images.
