Frequently Asked Questions
Have any questions about the website, custom commissions, or Tom’s artwork? You might find the answers here. If not, feel free to reach out via the Contact page to ask!
How long does it take to create a custom painting?
Custom paintings can usually be completed in a week or two. However, the painting must be allowed time to dry before shipping, which could take a month or more, depending on the thickness of the paint, air humidity, etc. Additionally, if there are other commission requests awaiting completion ahead of yours, there may be additional waiting time. If you have questions or concerns about the current turn-around time for custom commissions, please reach out via the Contact page and you’ll be provided with an estimated timeline.
Does Tom do artwork of people and living creatures?
I can paint many subjects, although I have more experience at some than others. Given my impressionist style, subjects like people and animals will look similar to the real references but, or course, will not be photo realistic.
I’d prefer not to pay for shipping. Is there a local delivery or pickup option?
I’m willing to drive a painting for local delivery up to 60 miles from Ellicott City, MD, whether that’s your residence or a public location where you’d like to meet. If you prefer this option, reach out via the Contact page to make special arrangements to receive a custom invoice that omits shipping charges.
Are prices negotiable?
I want to make sure that you receive a quality product that you can enjoy at a reasonable and realistic cost. I put a significant amount of thought and research into my prices to ensure that they are competitive with similar offerings from other artists. Factors such as size, level of detail, custom framing all factor into price calculations. While prices are not negotiable, please feel free to contact me to ask any questions you might have about how my price for a particular artwork has been determined.
Do you sell internationally?
At this time, I only sell within the United States. Due to the intricacies and complexity of international taxes and tariffs, I’m not yet ready to set up my online store, pricing structure, and other mechanism to account for every factor applicable to all countries around the world. While I do not currently sell internationally, I am keeping this in mind for the future. If my art business grows to the point where selling internationally is beneficial and feasible, I will take the necessary steps to make that a reality.
