Description: Based on a picture taken by motorsports photographer, Rob Woodham, this oil painting depicts the Porsche 911 RSR in action during the 2018 IMSA endurance racing season. Drawn in an impressionist style, this painting omits fine details in exchange for loose brush strokes and broken color. I was drawn to the reference photo mainly due to the lighting (this is a great golden hour shot) and the way it captures the dynamics of the scene. For instance, the subtle difference in distance from the ground to the front bumper between the driver and passenger sides subtly indicates the roll of the car as it makes its way round the turn.
