Description: I grew up in southern Maine, in a little town south of Portland. As you might imagine, Portland has a thriving seafood industry. Every day, crews on vessels of various types and sizes load up for the day and head out to collect the day’s catch. In the summer of 2025, on a visit to my home down to visit my parents, my wife and I took an early morning stroll along the docks. It was the perfect time to catch some “golden hour” shots of the scene. One in particular involved this crew loading bait before heading out on the bay. On a perfect morning such as this one, I could imagine how much these guys liked their jobs. Hearing them laugh and joke with each other that morning certainly made that apparent. I entire vibe seemed like a would make a nice painting.
