Description: This oil painting was an attempt at a realistic image of a Maryland blue crab. A lot of attention was paid to the details in this one, including the reflection of the crab in the wet sand of the beach. I think this painting hit the mark of a realistic depiction, although some of the colors could probably have been muted a little bit more. It certainly captures the characteristic blue color of the crab, with its distinctive red claws.
