Description: This impressionism style oil painting was created as a Christmas present for my sister. I honestly don’t remember where I found the reference photo, so if you find it, please let me know so I can credit the original photographer. The photo I based this painting from caught my eye, not only for the maritime subject, but also for the colors, contrast, and composition. I love how the deep blue of the sky reflected in the water stands out against the lighter shades of white in the surrounding dinghies. I also had fun capturing the various wood grain patterns in the seats, oars, and the dock.
