Title: Daisies

Medium: Oil Pastel on Bristol Vellum

Size: 11” x 14”

Year: 2013

Description: This oil pastel drawing was an attempt at an impressionist depiction of a still life subject, although a reference photo was used. The warm background augments the light source coming from the left, while providing tonal contrast against the cooler shadows on the right. The overlapping flowers and the shadows they cast against each other provide a real sense of depth in this drawing. Fun fact: I drew this as a present to my wife before we were married, as daisies are her favorite type of flower.
