Description: This painting was commissioned to depict the home of the commissioning buyer. This particular painting is very special to me because, not only is it my first official commission and sale, but it was also done at the request of a very close neighbor back in Maine, where I grew up. Completed in the impressionism style, this painting features the house on a warm, sunny summer morning. The house is nicely framed by the flowers and leaves in the foreground (bottom right corner), bright blue sky, and trees in the background. The morning sunlight in this location produces wonderful shadows in the front yard, resulting in some very interesting shapes, tones, and contrast. Of particular note is the red bud tree in the center of the image, with its tri-toned leaves prominently featured (a special point of interest for the customer).
