Description: This is one of my earliest oil paintings. I used it an opportunity to understand how best to work with oils, especially blending and contrast. This small study drew inspiration from classical impressionism, where general forms and patterns of light were emphasized. In this case, it was easier to focus on those objectives, given the rather amorphous subjects of clouds and water in the scene.
